Ouroboros Spine sure would like some sweet company

Kukutux arrived, looking a bit more wan than Ruenna remembered. 

"Kukutux," she greeted warmly, ears flattening in pleasure as Kukutux recited quite the grand-sounding title for her. 

"It's not the Snow Moon," she noted regretfully. Around the time that they had intended to meet, word had come to the Caldera detailing the tragedy at Moonspear. It wasn't until some time afterward that Ruenna learned that Kukutux had survived, relocating her pack here. 

"I'm so sorry about your home. Your friends, and family..." Rue stepped forward, prepared to offer support but unsure exactly how. How could she even begin providing comfort for such a grievous loss? 

As she stepped closer to her friend, she grasped a wisp of an acidic odor on Kukutux's breath. It was a familiar smell, from Towhee's pregnancy. "Oh Kukutux, are you ill?" Rue inquired, concern etching across her features. Or was she, perhaps, expecting as Towhee had been?
