Warm, and mild, this evening was young and just after dusk. The skies overhead were clear and dotted with stars, bright already, thanks in part to the new moon's deep darkness.
Amekaze didn't cover as much ground lately. She still hunted and patrolled a bit, and mostly at night. Daytimes were becoming littered with a whole lot more resting than before, which she didn't like, but at least the evenings still provided a good counterbalance. On the whole, despite persistent hunger and bulking up gradually (which meant noticeably, heading fast towards considerably, too), she was pretty well since she was still able to keep herself busily entertained with everything going on--from her daughters growing remarkably here, to the uncertainty towards the new resident family, and Aria's absence.
All she wanted above all else was to not hassle with anything more than keeping herself fed and guarded while maintaining a low enough profile as she convinced herself to get ready for going denbound with puppies again. At least this time she knew what she was doing, and getting into--without the lightning hunt drama/Redhawk loathing then Lazarus hanging over her head too.
She now knew herself far better, and knew what she would need. It would have to be peace. This year, she had her daughters to set to the cause, and while they were only on the edge of their ascensions into the ranks, she was placing much of her trust in them to help. It went unsaid, as with so many things between her and her family, but she knew it could be sensed keenly. A test, perhaps, and an opportunity to gain her favor more than ever before.
More right now than any other time--gravid, and soon to whelp her second brood, she was the wolf to impress here, after all.

Eventually as she roved along, she caught herself feeling annoyed by a pinching in her side then stretched her stride to try to shift it away. Paired with a swift-growing hungriness, she knew this mood was going to tank quickly if one bother didn't get taken care of. To help, all of this morphed into a little sting of loneliness in not having Charon somewhere immediately nearby right now, but she didn't track him down exclusively yet. Ame kept moving upward steadily looking for other trails to hunt on, as well as one mentioning him too. If nothing else, she'd have caches further in--not that they would satisfy as much. She would keep trying. But, at least coming upon her mate would do double duty; he'd sate the vague need for company and she could usually have him feed her, anyway.. which was one of the very few pluses in these fast approaching later days.
