Overture Downs Starfall

Alarian’s ears flattened when Korei responded. Too hurt to say anything else, he turned away to leave for awhile. To clear his mind.
Then a horrifying thought struck him; what if the two did not want him around anymore? What if he had messed everything up? He sucked in a breath and planted himself where he stood, laying about five feet from the others. The boy didn't dare leave for fear he might never find them again if he did.
Later he would accept it if they told him to leave, find somewhere he could let himself rot. There would be no point in trying again if they rejected him.
But for now the idea of being sent away tore at him more than any teeth or claws ever could.
