Sharing memories was always going to be something sad now, she was starting to find.  But that didn't mean it had to be a complete downer.  His was sweet, though she didn't exactly know if she would have considered it a best memory if she were him.  Taking care of someone? Boring.

I bet you were the best big brother ever, she replied, shaking her head at his apology.  Second best, she thought internally, but Terance could forgive the fib because in Charon's case, to Floki, he was probably first!

It isn't suuuuper sad, just kinda.  But once we get to this super awesome place it won't be.  Where's your little brother now?  That was kinda a loaded question, but Maia grew up stable enough that she hadn't quite found how iffy asking others about family could be.  Especially when they talked about them in past tense.
