He watched as his son moved towards his mother, and with a smile beginning to crack he wagged his tail slightly. He didn't know how to act around the boy, and feared upsetting him more given the history of his upbringing. It was the same as Ira, and Greyback still grieved, but at least Clay seemed to be doing well. Better.
But as he began to talk the patriarch took a moment to look over his son, the ragged fur, adorned with nicks and scratches, covered in blood as if he was a warrior of blood. And his friend, Valour, seemed to be in the same state, at least not as bad. "I am glad our son has a friend who cares so much about him," he replied, although still in steady, ungiving tone.
And then it came crashing with the message Clay had delivered. Greyback had not been ignorant to the pack that had set up close by, their scent was a strong presence in the wind recently, and though he had not personally gone to give them a welcoming to the lands, the elder had a feeling in his gut.
Clay's story seemed to enough to solidify it. Raising his brows, he looked at Valette, worried of the news. They would need to talk about what to do. "How much time has passed since this message? You've been gone for long,"
