She leaned into his affection, reaching up to softly kiss the line of his jaw in return. I know, she answered after a moment. Then she paused, frowning as she searched for his gaze. As for his promise, nipped lovingly at his jaw. I appreciate that, but if anyone ever tries to do that to me again, I will kill them myself. She liked his need to protect her, but she wasn't weak, and she wanted to make sure he understood that now. She showed him her vulnerable side but that, in no way, meant that she was softer—she was still a warrior, regardless of where she was, and she would act like one when it was needed.
