If Tierra knew she hadn’t merited a thought she would have been terribly offended. Luckily her ego didn’t come with mind reading capabilities. It did, however, come with easy boredom. And despite wanting little to do with anyone these past few weeks, sitting around alone wasn’t exactly the most entertaining activity.

Turns out she wasn’t the only one who ate alone. Where was the chick he was usually with? God, what was her name?

Hey! I thought you and what’s-her-face were, like, magnetically attached or something. What, she ditch you for the day? Could be he ditched her. Could be they weren’t actually that close and she just happened to see them together more often than not. Could be a lot of things, but she liked the drama of this one, and the curl of her smile showed it.

For the first time in weeks, she felt honed… alert. The hunger was finally gone. Tierra hadn’t been able to resist, and back on that high, she had zero regrets over giving in. Her expression was genuinely playful, though she wouldn’t be mad if she got a reaction out of him. That was kind of the whole point.
