he's flung in the dirt by legend's barreling. her teeth rake his spine and clumps of fur fly like buckshot. by the time he's regained his shaky footing the witch has blasted away at a hobbling limp and eset is gone. he aims one last snap at legend as she whirls past, but she's too fast and he's winded already from his scrap with the witch.

he hobbles after them all, single eye blazing as he tracks their descent out of the lowlands.

but he knows better than to scream after them. curses are their lot in life, not his -- and soto has never been a man to make a promise he cannot keep.
