it’s dangerous, this game they play with agile predator. soto’s eye rounds in surprise as fiamma is briefly caught; snarling, fighting, she untangles just as soto lunges for the cat’s hip. verapaz is strong, but his soldiers must not be grievously injured so close to growing season. he throws himself entire into the fray of blood and fur.
