she's pretty, but that doesn't necessarily compel soto to help her. how she managed to get so snared in vines is a marvel, but by the time the tiny voice some would call a conscience tells him to get down there, she's broken free.

he steps away, giving her a moment to recover her composure. his single eye glints in humor that does not quite reach his face.
