The snow reached up to her hocks, and there was a deeper chill the further north they traveled. Still, they continued; for this place seemed promising. They encountered few wolf-scents, and had come across no packs nor pack wolves. She peered over her shoulder at Aditya, flashing a grin as she slowed. The heavyweight of illness seemed to have lifted off her these past few days, and no longer did she have to suppress the odd hacking cough, nor was her sleep interrupted.

Spring was coming; she saw it in the gradual lengthening of the days, and yet it was hard to see it anywhere else. The prey had yet to return, and while she had seen a flicker of red she'd hoped desperately to be a robin, they had seen little else that might symbolize that spring was on the horizon. In fact, another cold snap had descended, and the cold and the damp seeped into her bones; her plush pelt nearing its limits. The snow crunched as they made their own trail through the untouched white, Dawn slowing and drawing up alongside her companions after a beat. "hungry?"

They ought to be able to make a kill. The rocky plains that reminded her, somewhat, of the Cuesta, were crisscrossed with trails, most half-enveloped by snow. Still, she'd seen the odd fresh markings, and hunger was beginning to gnaw at her once more.
