He ought to know it's rude to poke his nose into other people's business, but he did so anyway. It was thus that Evergreen reaked of guilt, peering at Ira with silent apology after apology. Really, he thought he recovered from his flustered mood, but it appeared the Newcomer, too, had little grip on his tongue. Probably not. Maybe another misunderstanding. Yeah. Uh, nevermind. Evergreen lifted his head with a grin—ever expressive and all too quick to mask whatever worries clouded the back of his mind.

It's nice to see they're willing to take in others like that, Evergreen settled on continuing the conversation about the pack's structure. Thistle, my sister, and I were raised in a small group consisting of just our family, too. That's part of what lured us to Easthollow, since we figured it would be similar.
