The dog rose this morning with a sharp cramp in his haunches, and crust sticking his eyes together. He managed to wobble his way down into the wellspring, dunking his head into the water for a refresher and to clean his eyes, then pulling his head back and blinking rapidly.

After a time, he sloughed into the water, fur floating in the water, before he lowered his haunches down and rested his chin on the side of the pools, sighing.

Curses. He’d pulled something with his sleeping position, he was certain.
