All Welcome

Orochi had been feeling a bit more confident for the past couple of days. All those days of training had really paid off; he was tripping way less than before. Now, he could roam the island as he pleased without worrying about someone watching him fall.

Now that was all well and good, but fighting was another story. He feared he'd lose his balance in a battle, since it was much more complicated than running back and forth. He'd have to practice, and what better way to do that than rough up his packmates a bit? Orochi stomped through the forest, keeping an eat and eye out for anyone. Maybe he'd run across the pale woman again, or better yet the girl that made him look stupid. He'd fight her any day.

She had drifted from the seaside at a leisurely pace at first, interested in the variegated clusters of trees that dotted the island. It surprised her that there was any forest life at all; the salt in the soil had purged most of the goodness away. Perhaps it was only the coast of the island that was affected. Nukilik rarely found anything living alongside the water, which cemented the idea in her head that the island's heart was where the life persisted; everywhere else was rotting, desiccating, mummifying, the closer it was to the water. How odd - she thinks - that water could take life as easily as give it.

Her focus once she had moved inland was to suss out clean water for the pack. She had brought this up to Ying before. If anyone was to survive here they could not drink from the sea - it needed to be fresh water, or they would not last. It did bode well for her that the forest was so dense; as she moved through it and across tangled ferns (frosted or buried in most places), Nukilik held out hope that somewhere there was a grotto, or some other hidden space, which would serve as an oasis.

So focused was the woman on this task, she did not realize there was another wolf in the vicinity.

would you like to do this via dice rolls? if so pm me :)

It wasn't the annoying woman he found, but it was someone. Someone was better than nothing. She was too absorbed in her task to notice how close Orochi was. Perfect, a surprise attack, or it would have been if he had not yelled—You! Fight me!—in her direction.

Orochi would not give her time to decline. He was a man on a mission and nothing could stop him now. Suddenly, he sprinted forward, taking careful note of his balance before doing so. Headbutting always seemed to work for him, so he aimed for her side with his forehead.
