"Couldn't... have chosen... ooomph! a lower... mountain!"
She trudged her way up the winding slope, paw step over sloppy pawstep. The plains had been so much easier to climb! But this was where her brother's trail led, after she'd found the forest he'd first gone to completely abandoned, and new tracks leading outwards and away. The deep trench of the wolves he ran with forged an easy path to follow; the snows had only started to cover up their tread.
The height was dizzying, even at the lowest slope where the scent line began, and Clary slumped into the thick snow behind it. About time! Now came the easiest part, provided someone would be around to help her. She inclined her nose to the sky, where fat flakes seemed to endlessly drift, and let her howl ring loud. A call for Merrit, in particular, but not unwanting to anyone else who might come.
After all, she just needed answers.

I don't really want to RP with myself so open to anyone! Figured you could also use this towards pack formation? @Kallik Clary used to live with Nanook, if you're interested in having him learn more about her!

He spent a lot of time near the borders, just as he done in Easthollow. There was something mildly comforting in the routine of it, even if the scenery was different. He was as silent as ever as he strode along the edges of their new home, his large form still growing larger even now. His feet left large prints in the snow behind him, even as the snow fell steadily from the sky. His thick, northern coat protected him from the cold, even up here, and he barely noticed it as he moved. His mind wandered here and there, but his thoughts were mostly of Valette and his mother. He thought about Merrit a lot too. His cousin was a familiar presence he was thankful for, but he couldn't help but keep his guard up even around him. He was afraid of getting too attached to anyone; it hurt too much when he lost the ones he loved. Besides, he had other things to concern himself with. He wanted to be strong and hard like his father. He wanted to be a protector, and he wanted to learn about the stars. So he dived head first into whatever would bring him closer to those goals.
A howl pulled him from his thoughts, and he lifted his head to sniff the air. The wind made it difficult to figure out exactly where the call had come, but the sound told him the general direction.
When he finally found her, he stopped quietly in front of her. His gaze was as icy as the breeze and his expression was expectant and demanded to know what she was doing so close to his new home.

One step.... two steps.... a hop.... fuck yeah!
Zane grinned as he crested the lower ridge, chest swelling with a hugely unwarranted amount of pride. Look, maybe it didn't seem like much, but he was gettin the fuckin hang of this whole mountain-goat thing. And... then he made the mistake of looking down.
Woooooaaaahhhhhh shit.Ohhhhh bro, he was going to have to get down now. Alright, dude, you got this. Just gotta.... stand here. Stand here and shake. Right.
A howl rang out a little ways to the left. Zane jumped... and slipped.... and ended up in a gut-wrenching slide that took him off onto the ledge he'd just climbed up from. It wasn't that high, but it was enough for him to let out a rather unbecoming yipe as he free-fell about 15 feet before landing on the stone.
H...holy balls. He wheezed. Okay. Wait a tick there stranger, he'd get there. First he had to find his stomach.
