The boy had traveled far but, no amount of exhaustion halted his paw steps. Sakina was born to be a wanderer, born to map the deep places no canid had gone before. On his journey, he had stayed in many places, none for more than a few weeks. Somehow, as if fate demanded they met again, the coydog was currently denned up at Porcupine Ridge. Unbeknownst to him, blueeyes made his home in these mountains.
Though Sakina realized quickly that the pack Mereo was in this territory as well, so perhaps it was not so shocking that the man had ended up here too.
The tiny canid had picked up his friend's scent days ago but had been too afraid to call for him. What if the older man had forgotten the coydog? Worse, what if he thought Sakina had abandoned him on purpose?
But now he knew he must call. Reyson at least deserved an explanation. So, raising his head, he gave the high screeching call of a coyote, beckoning the big man forth.

I hope this is ok! Please let me know if I need to fix anything :)

The youth Sakina was never far from Reyson's thoughts. He had learned early on to not worry much. The boy hadn't been ready to be a soldier and that was absolutely fine. He was made for it. Well built and good at what he had taught, but sometimes it took some time.
So when the tiny and recognizable call came for him. He headed towards it. A glint in his eye of fondness and a loping run. IT would be good to see Sakina. There was a small part of him that had missed the youth.
Upon arriving he howled for the kid. And then waited. Blue eyes watching.

hey there little two tone.
You're fine <3
I will be building Reyson's personality largely in character. So his general personality and mannerisms may change as I learn more about him. I am fine with some plots with him as long as all parties are comfortable and know what is to be expected.

Reyson had been a regret of the boys for those lonely six months. Especially when he had curled alone, shivering, and listened to the wind howl. Knowing that if he had stayed, he would be curled up with his friend instead of nearly freezing to death lonesome and scared.
The answer did not take long to arrive, carried to him on the wind, and Sakina did not stop himself from running to the sound, his own excited barks echoing off the rock. When he arrived at where Reyson waited, the way in which he approached was completely foreign from their last meeting. The coydog crept towards the older male on his stomach, tail wagging as he reached up to lick Reyson's brown chest fur.
Sakina had changed too. Gone was the layer of puppy fat, and the soft puppy fur. His body rippled with lean muscle, but the most noticeable change was the youths widened hips and change of scent. In the six months, he had been traveling, his body had matured, and it would not be long now before he experienced his first heat. The first pull of his instincts.
But that time had clearly not arrived, or the boy, now a man, would not be so willing to have Reyson so close. "Blueeyes!" He yapped, twirling himself around the bigger man excitedly. "I thought you would not come! I thought perhaps you were angry." His speech had improved immensely, though it seemed he kept his habit of nicknames. "You deserve an explanation, I know."

Reyson had often wondered when he was warm and dry and safe if Two Tone was alright. He had a fondness for the youth.
The scarred veteran was surprised when Two Tone approached and initiated physical affection. He nudged him between the soldier blades and atop his head in greeting. Then listened as more words than he was ever used too, spilled from the coy dogs maw.
A smile on his scarred visage it was good to see the youth.

I wasn't angry. Worried, but not angry.
You owe me nothing. if you want to tell me about your adventures. I'll listen. But they are something for you. That you had to do. I wouldn't ask on something like that.

Blueeyes had been worried? The coydog tried to think back to the days of his puppyhood when Lulusha still lived and his mother fretted over them. Except she never had. Sakina's mother had only returned to the den to feed them, then had left as soon as they had nursed their fill. Having another feel anxiety on his behalf was a foreign feeling to him.
"Thank you." Reyson's words bought a surge of warmth through his small body, eyes bright with an adoration he had not felt before. This feeling too was foreign, and it burned deep in his heart like wildfire. Suddenly, the youth stepped into the winds to allow the cold breeze to soothe his passion. What had come over him just now? Odd.
"But I feel I must tell you all the same. I was not ready for Mereo. I only wished to join it so I could stay by your side." His gaze turned to the valley below them. The vale in which Epoch made their home. "This is your new pack? Can I stay here, make a den between the spires, and you can visit me?" When his gaze turned back to Reyson they were filled with the same desperation as six months ago, when he had wanted so badly to follow the older man wherever he went. This time, Sakina seemed determined.

Where once had been coldness. There was a softness and warmth to the youth. He didn't quite understand what had changed, but he was glad for it none the less. Would make life alittle easier, if they were able to go along with things just alittle bit better. But he didn't fully like absolute trust, you had to be vigilant of the people and surroundings in your life.
Reyson listened closely.
he thought of explaining why, but he didn't want to scare Two Tone. It was unfair of him to do so. He already made Meadow worry after his broken brain. He didn't want anyone else to do so.
Reyson listened closely.
You can. I'm sure they'd take you in Epoch too if you are so inclined. It's not a soldier outpost. It's a place of teaching and family. It is where I have gone to retire.
