for @Meryet
a gift from ta-senet, or so samir said. she hid her disdain. samirseti was the one good thing that came from that blasted kingdom, and she didn't even love him.
they were foolish to think some poor slave girl could ever pay back the amount of blood spilt that made serpent lake turn red that day. but what else could she have expected of the kingdom that molded rashepses. she was soon to be divine — it was okay now to think and speak ill of him.
still, racharra wouldn't even think of facing the woman with that anger and hatred. she had no fault for where she was born, she was better off in vahanet than that accursed kingdom, standing only because the gods must be waiting on the right moment to smite it.
besides, the hemet-nesut was curious to see the woman.

meryet was hesitant. the halls of vahanet sparkled with the gaudy glamor of modernity, squeaky-clean and rich with beautiful red rock for its walls, and she'd almost immediately felt out of place. it was like being in the heart of ta-senet all over again.
maybe it just took some getting used to.
her first night in her quarters had gone well enough. she slept as soon as she parted from pharaoh, ate some weird cactus fruit for breakfast, and spent the rest of her morning learning her way around the perimeter of the oasis.
it wasn't long before she ran into someone. quite literally. she physically crashed into a large, raven-cloaked flank while walking downhill on one of the oasis's many trails.
she looked like a fucking idiot.

a flash of a familiar brown; her heart stopped for a moment when it hit her, and the woman turned girl again as she stared stupidly at her. @Eset?
no.
when her surprise wore off, disappointment replaced it. the woman's face was not as dark as the hebsut, there were many clear difference between both women. this must be the hemetu.
racharra then felt shame — shame for being disappointed. racharra puts on her best smile, donning her title again, and shook her head.

it's fine. there's only so much room in these halls.her marigold eyes avert, grounding herself in the sight of vahanet and its flowing waters.
it is beautiful. i cannot blame you for being entranced by it. i was too, when i first arrived.

queen racharra, wife of the court.
she bumped into the literal queen.
meryet's embarrassment was astronomical, but she shrugged it off and slipped it into her metaphorical back pocket. she needed to make a good first impression here. she studied the young queen, trailing her silhouette; she was tall, almost as tall as her husband, and there was untamed power in her frame, yet she seemed so delicate and polite. her eyes were pale and had a kernel of darkness behind them that made meryet wonder if there was once more life to them.

it really is something else, meryet smiled as wide as she could muster at the moment and extended a forepaw.
i'm meryet. your... new servant, i suppose.
