All Welcome
Deciding to make herself useful Kora had awoken the same as always, early. This time though, she planned to find ways to benefit the pack. She started with a morning circle of the territory, quick and short but still precise. Upon finding it was a little ways since the crack of dawn Kora decided the stream would be warm enough for a nice fishing trip. Making her way toward the water the lady smiled; she was helping.

The cold water was shielded by a layer of ice, of which a simple slam of her paw could break (and did). Though after the impact her paw throbbed painfully with the intent of making her life even more difficult. Kora simply shrugged off the suffering before sitting patiently, scanning the water for any unexpecting fish to swim by. Or more accurately, her breakfast. Though if somebody stopped by, Kora was more than willing to catch them a couple of fish too.
Kora has a limp and doesn't usually walk on her right forepaw, walking with three legs instead of four, so you're always welcome to reference that! When she speaks Maori it will look like this! <3

nausea had, ultimately, won. she'd quietly vomited up the contents of her stomach (which had been rather lackluster, really) into brittle undergrowth earlier that morning. a brisk walk along the borders had helped to take the edge off, and when later it had faded to a dull and constant rolling of her stomach, the leader had circled inward, back toward the creek.

it is Kora she finds there; a packmate she'd been meaning to talk too. she'd seen her only in passing since her joining, and now that she seemed to be settling in, it seemed a good time to get to know her better. she calls softly as she approaches, steps light and careful as she notes her packmate's focus, not wanting to disrupt what she thinks might be a hunt.

Nothing had swum by recently, nothing big enough to call a breakfast anyway. Every once in a while a small fish would pass by but it was always seemed to be small or too fast and she knew she wouldn't catch it. Watching them longingly as they simply flew through the stream, unbothered. A quiet call drifts over the air, one that Kora finds familiar but cannot place. The simple moment of confusion passes swiftly as Kora looks up to find none other than the leader of Whitebark.

Smiling now, the woman dips her head in acknowledgment before glancing at the water and seeing a fish; this time though, it was what she had been looking for. Kora held up her bad paw, both to prepare and send a message of patience to her friend. When it comes close Kora sticks her mangled paw in the water and uses it much like a ladle to get underneath the fish and throw it into the air.

Shoving her muzzle forward the lady manages to catch the fish mid-air in one fluid motion, a move not so common as it usually takes a couple tries each fish. Making sure the fish has drawn its final breath Kora sets it down beside her and calls back to Dawn. "You sure did come at the right time!" Out of her muzzle seeps a laugh as she runs her gaze over her companion. The sight of her seems off somehow but Kora shakes it off, maybe it's just because she had recently awoken.

the huntress waits patiently while the woman hunts, tail lashing when she pulls an unwilling victim from the stream, making quick work of it. "good catch!" comes her easy praise, stepping near. she'd not missed how she'd used her injured paw in the hunt, an interesting adaption. she settles onto her haunches beside the woman, gaze shifting over the shallows a moment before returning to the girl. it'll take a while for the fish to draw near once more, having caused such an obvious disturbance in the shallows. "where'd you learn to fish like that?" she asks, shifting as she regards the younger girl.

Dawn compliment her skills with such ease and enthusiasm Kora couldn't help but smile at the praise. Her companion comes closer and places herself beside the woman. The lady glances at the water as if willing it to calm before looking back to the woman. Dawn asks her how she learned to fish like she does and the creamy woman giggles. "I have to survive one way or another." Kora shrugged, it was true. Her mother had been the one to help her fish, at times even walking off her forepaw too to show that Kora wasn't alone. "Plus that was luck. Usually, it takes a few tries to catch it."
