Novelty mixed with nostalgia as Thresher guided Huā through the island, sharing a few, treasured memories with her new packmate as she led her through the tangled ivy of the forested island, and toward the Western shoreline. She frisked along the shore at the sight of the water which stretched further than she could see, before she zipped back to Huā's side, her step still sprightly and youthful as she led the way, excitedly, toward where she knew the Labyrinth's entrance would be.

The island had changed- grown, matured, and had been worn down by time and the tide, but she was not discouraged to see its new shape, and how it had grown unfamiliar in places. This was still her birthplace- and was still a host of thousands of happy memories of her earliest days. She was not a chatty wolf, by any means- but her excitement provided the stimulation she needed to start a conversation on her own, which was something she'd only begun doing once she'd reached adulthood.

As they headed North, the beach grew more rocky, and massive boulders leaned against one another along the shoreline, melding together to create a stony surface where tidepools collected water when the tide went out. Accessing the labyrinth meant carefully navigating the dips and curves, and occasionally a small jump from one stone to the next, until the shoreline grew up and away from the water, to form small cliffs. But now, while the tide was out, they were able to reach the entrance to the labyrinth- the dark mouth of a tunnel system that led into the cliffside, but was hidden amongst the boulders that lay scattered about. She paused, to allow Huā to take in the sight, and see what she thought of it. "Is hidden; like treasure." She said. And while the tunnel never flooded completely, it was without a doubt difficult to find- unless you knew what you were looking for.

sorry for the wait!!

Thresher was full of energy in a way the empress could not relate to- pregnancy had drained her ability to skip and dance, and her heart was green with envy as the wolfdog zipped around her. The island had been explored by Huā in its entirety- and so she was deeply curious where the labyrinth could possibly begin. The area at which they arrived was not unfamiliar, and Huā's eyes began to wander as they walked, searching for the place. She followed across the tide pools, weaving through the scattered boulders- until she saw it. There, hidden between the rocks was a gaping hole in the earth, not large enough to be especially eye-catching and so must've been overlooked the first time... or possibly even submerged. Seaglass eyes widened with awe, ears flickering to acknowledge Thresher's comment. Hidden... I see why I not know it before. Shall we go in...? She wondered, though she was already taking hesitant steps towards the place. If Thresher agreed, Huā would follow readily behind, allowing the girl to take the lead.
