All Welcome
AW! set for mid to late morning

she has come to leave the isle once again, this time traveling up further and closer to where her friend heph said her little group was.

while iseul lacked the hankering for an octopus, she did think of the new creature name heph taught her. crab, the little spindly-looking creatures who walk sideways and often threaten to snip off your whiskers. it was in the late morning that she arrived at the bay. the ocean rolled loudly and the cold water came to splash against iseul's legs.

her eyes would come to scan the sand, looking for the little eyes and shells of the crabs that inhabited the shoreline. if she was lucky, she'd come to find a few of them and bring them back to her hungry friend. if she wasn't, she would head back home and try her best to catch something on the way.
Iseul is still learning English and will frequently pause to find the right word. This often occurs with an audible 'uh' or 'ah' sound, as well as speaking a bit slower to try and avoid mistakes. Your character is welcome to notice this!

In walked Manea, continuing her march up the coast. She skirted the bay, clambering over the rocky parts she encountered, before spotting a burly, brown-furred woman scanning the beach, as if looking for something.

She chuffed before approaching, not wanting to frighten the stranger.

Hunting? she asked, her paws leaving brisk prints on the wet sand as she kept her gait light and airy, hoping not to disturb whatever creature she was looking for.

For sea creatures, Manea thought. Not much in the way of game out here, unless seagulls were on the menu.

a wisp calls to her, and iseul comes in to look towards the other woman with gentle curiosity. before her, a woman built with sweeping limbs and a build that the eastern woman could only dream of one day achieving.

she offers a nod of her head, tail wagging behind her gently. "for crabs," she comes to say to her, quite proud of the new word she had learned to describe the crustacean, "you hunt?" she asks, meaning to say 'are you hunting too?'. well, isuel usually got her message across 90% of the time, she had a feeling this woman would be able to pick up what she was putting down anyways.

The question, she took literally, and shook her head. Not right now, she said. But she did take the invitation to come closer and stood alongside the burly woman.

Whatcha hunting? she asked, glancing sidelong at the other wolf.

Perhaps she could help.

Perhaps she could not.

But she was very hungry.

she comes closer, bringing a sense of camaraderie to Iseul. "crabs," she tells her, "they walk sideways." iseul does her own little sidestep, further away and back again so she rejoins Manea. it would be enough of a picture she'd like to think as Iseul lacked the vocabulary to describe how else a crab looked.

However, when she thinks back to Heph, an idea comes to mind: "lots of legs." well, it wasn't such a description to paint a mental picture, although it was probably better than nothing. not too many creatures inhabited the world with multiple legs besides bugs in Iseul's understanding.

it was often rare to see a crab outside the sand during the day as they tended to be more active at night. however, iseul held hope that she and her new companion would be successful. "look here," she comes to say, drawing out a little v-shape in the sand with her paw, "crab inside, ahh-- dig out when see." in reality, the v's were nothing more than tracks and often led to success if the hunter was able to see them in the sand, which often was hard enough with the tide. the waves come to wipe away her drawing, and now iseul must be on the lookout for each time the water recedes.

"what name?" she comes to ask as she looks for the vs in the sand, soon casting her gaze towards the other pretty lady.

Sideways. There's a vision of crabs she found from the island—lots of legs, as the woman confirmed. Manea drew closer at the invitation, staring into the indentation the wolf carved into the sand.

At the instruction, she started to dig. Sending sand flying until—

Oh, she burst out, realizing she'd been asked a question. I'm Manea. And you?

She continued to burrow into the sand, looking for the many-legged creatures. She could smell the salty meat. It was close.

rolled for hunt in discord, successful for first catch!

manea. secretly the tiger repeats this name in her head as she continues to look around for the trails.

"iseul." she comes to say back, though the sound of flying sand could be heard from her heels as the larger woman bounds into the receding wave at the first sight of a v forming in the wet sand. brutish paws come quick to dig out her treasure, and soon enough a small crab is flung from its hiding place!

"manea, look!" she comes to say excitedly, doing her best to keep the crab from burrowing and sidestepping away from her. hopefully her friend would have success too, but for now iseul keeps the critter tucked underneath a toe to hold it in place.

the two would spend their time together eating and catching crabs galore, and iseul would make herself proud for having such a profound teaching moment with manea. when the time passed and it was time for a departure, the deputy wished her fishing partner well and would come to travel back towards her home with a crab in maw.

edited to fade as per requested! <333
