Moonspear even when you're sleeping—keep your ey-eyes open

Pauk's eyes opened, and his world increased tenfold. Although this was a new and exciting milestone, it initially didn't phase him. He sat, hunched over, eyes at half-mast, and studied the furs on the ground below him. It wasn't until he lifted his head that he realized there was much more to see.

Urrrrrrrrrr, he mumbled, his head bobbling comically as he looked around and took in all the new things that he could see.

Their eyes opened to the world, and Sialuk watched with wonder, just as she had done with Acrux and Maggak. The sooty boy verbalized his newfound world, and Sialuk set her chin on the ground to gaze right back at him. All three of this year's babes had grown significantly since they had come into this world. Sialuk found that while she still thought of Argent and the unpleasant feelings his departure had caused, they had begun to dissipate. The children were her world now.

It took him a beat to catch sight of Sialuk, and when he did, he froze and began to study her face as best he could. There wasn't too much he could make out, so he inched closer. Once he was close enough, the child reached out to his mother with a stubby arm, aiming to grab her nose so that he could better observe her.

Pauk's movements stopped suddenly when he caught sight of her, and Sialuk grinned, her teeth shining in the sunlight that crept in through the opening of the ulaq. She did not remember Maggak or Acrux being so... pawsy. The little smudge of a pup reached out to boop her nose, and she wrinkled her lips at the ticklish sensation, then licked her lips, most certainly moistening Pauk's paw in the process.

Sialuk's lick tickled Pauk, and he quickly removed his paw from her nose with a laugh. Unable to control himself, as the feeling lingered, he shrugged his shoulders up to his ears, smushed up his expression, and continued to giggle. It was all-encompassing; his entire body began to jiggle as he grew louder and louder in volume.

Pauk went into an uncontrollable giggle, and Sialuk couldn't help but follow with her own breathless laughs. She would do her best not to disturb the other children... though a babe's laugh was contagious and easy to follow along with. Gently, she took his paw in her mouth, hoping to coerce more giggles out of him for her own enjoyment. It was a welcome distraction from the departure of Argent, a figure who still lingered in her thoughts.
