Ajei had bound one of her furs with chunks of meat both dried and not. And she headed towards the Sapphique camp and the wolf who had stood up for her when Cygnet and Mae had been deplorable.

Could she have handled it differently absolutely, but her anxiety had taken over. And she had fled upset and wary. But ahe appreciated her savior none the less. She determined she would not go far without Arrluk, @Shadess or Sobeille.

Once she got to the small spot that was beginning to smell like the sea. She called out kindly, sweetly and waited.

The spot that they picked out here in the Glen reminded her of the mangrove in ways. Shady looming trees where roots swelled in the runoff waters where creeks spidered out from.

After the run in with those other wolves, whoever they are, Shadess felt pumped! Unlike Ajei, Shadess was ready to throw it down with anyone else that gave her or her buddies any lip.

So expectantly, when a wolf came drawing in towards their camp, Shadess went trotting like a badass into their direction... but oh! It was Ajei. Hey dere Red! She called out as she drew nearer.

Ajei didn't now who had exactly picked out the spots, but if it had been her heart brother. he had done an amazing job. But she was fairly certain he had help. And she would ask.

But each spot seemed to fit the packs. Of course nothing was like home, but it was close. And she felt that was important on all avenues.

Hello!.

Ajei smiled and lay the offering at her feet. I wanted to thank you for helping me today. I get easily overwhelmed in large groups. And Conflict gives me the absolute worst panic attacks. So Thank you.

She pressed the items forward with a small smile.

Well don't you worry den. My sister and I got your back. At least, while they were close enough to Ajei to do such a thing. The distance between here and Sapphique was quite a stretch. It wasn't an easy journey for the girl by far, but she was filled with energy, excitement and adrenaline. It was her first adventure outside of home and it had been quite the memorable one.

Oh, dank you! Bright evergreen eyes wide, she sits down and scoots herself close to the bundle Ajei inched her way. What kind of fur is dis? Shadess, of course, was a cold-waters coastal wolf. She knew of fish, crusteans, seal and whales.

Ajei smiled sweetly. It was nice to have friends that cared so much and that were braver than Ajei herself was. It had been a difficult day, but she had spent time with others. Learned who her friends were and now she was calmer than she had been.

It is a weasel fur. Little slinky creatures. Mischievous. Their fur changes to white in the winter months. It also has some choice meats in it. Dried and seasoned and some fresh.

A small little smile. She had hunted these items herself. And prepared them. It was something she was proud of for she was not the greatest hunter. So when she succeeded. It made her happy.

The fur, as it were right now, was brown with a streak of white which looked like had been on the animal's stomach. She doubted, now that the fur was missing the animal's body, that it would change to all white on its own - but the pup could still imagine that would be pretty cool!

Dis is wonderful. The young redhead spoke, nosing around in the bundle of fur and snagged a piece of dried meat, seasoned with herbs. And what was that? Basil, garlic? Shadess didn't know but bet her maman knew this things. She seemed to know basically everything, after all.

So is dis where you live? It's very far from home. She admitted. It was no wonder Ajei could not visit all that often.

Ajei wished she had found brother weasel dressed in his winter fur coat. But she had not been so lucky. But she would try again. Perhaps with the guidance of Rodyn or Arrluk. She had seen the furs Rodyn had brought so pretty and quite thick. They would make a nice little wrap for a pup or a small wolf.

Ajei nodded. Yes. Though I spent the summer on teh spear with Arrluk's sister's tribe. We will be returning to moonglow after the hunt.

She stretched out her toes. It is very far from the sea, but I enjoyed the sea too. It's quite pretty, thought loud.

De spear is very tall. She commented with a nodding of her head. Here in the Glen, the mountain was just there and it's spires reached the clouds, bigger then she had ever seen before and maybe ever would.

Ahh, yes. Can be very loud. She said between tearing and eating pieces of seasoned, dry meat. Sometimes de waves crash so loud durin storms I t'ink de cliffs might fall into de sea. Day echo through de red woods. She spoke, a smile on her lips. Wat is dis Moonglow like?

Ajei nodded. It is and it is very rocky. But there is a sense of peace there. I enjoyed it. I will always prefer home. But the Spear was not terrible to reside in.

Ajei listened as Shadess colored an image in her mind with words. The sea sounded mighty and terrible and yet gentle and soft. She was not sure if she could ever be one who loved the sea like her dear friends. But she could admire it.

Moonglow is like a tiny slice of meadow, but there are enough shadows to keep it cool in summer. Rivers run through it and a beautiful forest. There are caves and trees. It is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We have a large tree known as Firemother. There is small game to hunt in the loam and fish to gather in the rivers.

Shadess listens and then nods as Ajei spoke of the mountain spear. Of its rockiness. This, Shadess knew of. The cliffs which plummeted into the sea were, obviously, rocky. Although there was not really any easy way of scaling the cliffs, a number of paths and tunnels could be taken to the cove safely, making Shadess not so much a mountain wolf herself. Maybe one day she would learn to hunt for eggs along the cliffside like her elders did.

Now Ajei spoke of her own home, of the valley hidden away within the short ring of mountains which protected it from an outsiders view. She spoke of rivers and lakez forests and openness and a great firemother tree. I know fish well. Dere is big deer you hunt in Moonglow like we do 'ere? They hunted the from the sea, the lake. Small game as Ajei spoke of, birds and their eggs along the cliffs... yet Shadess had never seen a deer so large as an elk in all her life.

Ajei had not liked the spear as well as moonglow. It had it's own beauty, but it reminded her of a harder beauty than she was used too. Something unmovable almost. And Ajei always preferred a little give. But it had been beautiful. Sometimes she wished she was more like that, unmovable, Strong.

She nodded her head. I love to fish. Salmon and trout and brook bass. So many little perchs and tiny little minnows. They dart around. Some are too small to make a meal. You have to find deeper spots. But they are full of many things. I also like crayfish. A bit like crabs, but smaller, faster. And of course we have large game too in the forest.

The dragon cliffs were much, much further north then here and their home of Moonglow just beyond, yet Ajei spoke of all types of foods which Shadess knew and knew well.

We 'ave much salmon too. She began to think of different things. 'Dere are seal and sea lion, and the grown-ups hunt all kinds of bird nests along de cliffs. Gulls, puffins and loon. Shadess didn't particularly care to have to pluck so many feathers just to get to good meat and scaling the cliffs looked so hard but man, eggs were good!

Ajei had only been to the cliffs of Shadess's home once. But it had been beautiful. But she had not explored it in it's entirety. However, she figured that it was like Moontide and hid forest and small water pools. She had liked to watch the little creatures in those. They were not usually enough to eat. So she amused herself by watching.

You hunt seal and Sea lion. Goodness. Aren't they quite difficult to hunt? If she remembered correctly there was a group of wolves in Rodyn's own pack who hunted seal. It was a passage of adulthood and men died for it. That her friend hunted them and their family as well. Well that was simply both horrifying and wonderful.

Ajei did not usually hunt birds. They were difficult, sometimes gamey and their beaks were terrible as she has found out the hard way.

Of course I do! She says, puffing out her flurry chest as she does so. Of course, it was a bit of an exaggeration. Well, alot of an exaggeration, as when the adults had hunted, she mostly stayed at the back end, getting a bite or two in whenever she could but mostly jumping around barking. She had alot to learn still but had learned of them, at least.

Seals are slowest on land. Dey just flop an' roll, can't walk. Yet dey are still de 'ardest to catch, cause dey dun stray far from de ice holes.

Sea lion can walk far up da beach an' dey are in large groups. So many to pick from! But dey are very big an' teeth very sharp. Easier to catch, 'ardest to kill.

Ajei's eyes grew a bit wide. So she did hunt seals and sea lions. Ajei felt her stomach churning at he mere thought. Couldn't they pull you under? Rip you apart? She ahd seen their teeth, they were near as bit as her own!

Do they taste similar? They were so very different and yet so very similar. She wondered if they tasted the same? Or if one tasted saltier or greasier or something.
