ooc: hoping for a wild @Chaska or @Anouke because both of you guys wanted threads, I'm good with either or both <3
the native was near the entrance of the lair, sitting next to a rather large stone that towered over her, perhaps because the stone actually curled inward and became part of the ceiling, so it really wasn't a stone at all and more of a wall instead. whatever it was, shikoba liked it, she was leaning on it just a bit while the warm breezes of spring blew into the lair every now and then and ruffled her fur. the scarred woman breathed it in gently, enjoying the scent of sweet flowers and dew.
her plume was curled up against her paws as her cupped ears were fixed forward, golden eyes frosty and sharp, looking forward for any immediate danger that could threaten her tribe. it was a routine for her now, to go and sit at the entrance every other day while she made her border patrol rounds. it was clockwork for her, very simple and easy clockwork that kept her head and body in shape while making sure she kept her position as gokenin.

Chaska ventured toward the entrance of the cavern from where he had been resting. This place was an interesting find by Asterr, or whoever else found it before her if anyone was before her. As he approached the entrance, a warm breeze came through. And with it, a scent. He recognized it as the first he had smelt when he came to this place.
He found Shikoba there. "Shikoba" he greeted with a curt little nod to her then went to sit opposite her, looking the same way. He recalled she wasn't one for words, at least that was what he assumed from their first meeting. "So, what brings you out here? The breeze? Or just on watch?" he asked, tipping his head a bit to the side.

She heard another approaching but could feel that it wasn't a threat. She wasn't a shaman who could read auras, but she knew what they felt like. Shikoba turned around to see one of the men she had admitted, Chaska, join her on her little peak watch. His greeting was simple, shikoba mirrored him and turned her attention back towards the land in front of her, though felt her ears twitch at his words.
She parted her coal black lips to spek in her choppy, yet silly voice. "On watch. Shikoba must watch, protect tribe, family," she returned to him. She had already lost her family because she couldn't protect them once, then she had lost her second family after she again failed to become active and the warrior she was meant to be. She wasn't going to lose this one.
"Chaska. Why here? Breeze, explore, watch?" She asked him in a curious tone, her frosty gaze leaving the land for a bit to linger on the male.

"On watch. Well, that's good..." He licked his tongue across his lips, eyes ahead as well. He remembered he had met someone who talked in a way similar to her, but he couldn't remember quite well who it was. So he mentally shrugged it off.
He looked toward her when she directed a question at him. And he shook. "Neither, actually. I'm here for maybe a bit of teaching. If you have time?" he asked, arching a brow at her. "I mean, you did experience first hand how I am, and that wasn't too good." He gave a nervous chuckle.
