His ears flattened-- her words struck a nerve, reminded him of his own actions, and suddenly he felt unreasonably guilty himself. Ali looked away from her, unable to handle the girl's hysterics and biting words though they were directed at the other. He felt uncomfortable witnessing it, and part of him felt bad for this Arnvarr. The wolf hadn't hurt her, hadn't said much in fact-- Alarian wasn't terribly inclined to find him as horrible as Xahi clearly did. Not yet, anyway.
Besides, he knew he could easily be described the same way.
Ali said nothing, ghosting nervously to the side towards Arnvarr. It was unclear from his posture if he did so from wariness of Arnvarr or from fear of Xahi's anger.
