He nodded as Valette thanked him before walking beside her, his shoulder brushing hers as he dug his giant paws into the earth to kick up dirt. He worked silently beside her, listening to the sound of the paws and huffs of their breath. He liked it. He liked how silent and simple it was between them for now.
With Valette back, he able to think clearly. He became restless while she was away and the news of Stark swept over the pack. He wanted to ask how she was, but he knew the answer to that. No one would be 'okay, fine, perfect' after their mate abandoned them and their children. It also wasn't the time to ask for such a thing while burying your dead family member.
Stepping back as he noticed her stopping, Greyback watched as she placed the bones into the grave before returning and helping cover the ditch up with the same silence. He would steal glances to her, trying to look at her face every chance he could get. He was worried for her. To him it seemed as if she looked alone and lost. He knew of the loss she had faced in her life, at least some of it, and he wondered if this would be the breaking point.
Would Valette open herself up to others?
He continued to stay silent and stand next to her. "The Mother Stone," He repeated before the large gust of wind shook the nature around him. Greyback's fur caught in it easily, making the long strands whip back and forth. He wondered if it was a sign of approval, and heard Valette whisper to it. "I'll have to come back later and thank her." He breathed, looking at the stone with a smile.
He caught Valette looking at him in the corner of his vision and turned to look at her too. "You're welcome," He responded, his voice calm as ever. He didn't know how long she had been back for, and wondered if she had taken care of herself yet. "Would you like to go eat, rest..." He looked down at their dirty paws. "Perhaps a bath?" He chuckled.
