The bite of the cold air against his ears brought with it an interesting scent that picked at the man's nose, urging him to trek forward and scuff it out. Normally the well composed man would have reserved judgement, but with spring on it's way, as well as his offspring, the patriarch had been on edge and vilgilant on keeping the lands safe for his members and future whelps.
Marching his way towards stone circle, tail held high and composure readjusted, the man was met with the sight of a pair, both small and dwarfed by the stature of Merrit— who stood before them with a stance rivaling his own. The mountain of a wolf could not see the boy's face nor hear him but was laid easy by the absence of any hostile air. Infact, he was surprised to see one of them hiding behind the other.
Continuing to hold his posture and swallow any signs of his haste, the beast strolled down to meet them, his form towering over the three as amber eyes locked onto the two with a slight squint of question. He cleared his throat upon hearing the orange one ask for an alpha and state she was nor here to cause trouble— something that would be revealed with time.
"Im quite surprised to hear intruders state they are not here to cause trouble," he interrupted with a playful undertone, though was quick to steady his voice. "Our pack does not use the title Alpha. Only Matriarch and Patriarch— I am Greyback, Patriarch of Easthollow. I see you have met my packmate, Merrit," Greyback glanced to the boy, giving him a small smile. He knew the raven was not fond of him, but still continued in attempt to melt that shell he wore. "What brings you within our lands?"
