She was a creature of limited words, or at least that was how the brutish boy saw his mother. It was an aspect he appreciated within her and wished others would emulate; perhaps he emulated it some, without meaning to. Father was different—it was he who struggled without words, he who required the boy to adapt and grow with these verbal skills that felt so unfit to his more feral nature. But here with Amekaze things were different. The quiet wasn't strained, and what words were spoken were short and to-the-point, which Revui deeply appreciated. The sound of Amekaze's voice made his pride soar further as he ran.

When she brought up his scars, he did not hesitate to speak up: Yes, he grunted as he followed her. blackfeather girl, some would-be warriors. Each defeated. It was not his habit to openly boast but things were changing for Revui; he had not spoken much of his time away and was glad to have earned his mother's attention rather than derision for his brief departure. While his father and brother had toiled to find him, perhaps his mother had been safe with her belief that he could handle the world outside the claim...? It was a thought that made him feel stronger and more self-assured.
