In the quiet of the ulaq, she found her mother and the children: @Massaraq, @Kassuq, @Arrluk, and @Galana. They had been on this earth for a full turn of the moon, and they grew quickly with the passing of time. Sialuk admired them briefly before turning to @Kukutux.

Sakhmet is gone, she said, settling into a prone position, her brow laced with concern. She did not think her mother’s wife would do this without reason, and it could not have been easy. Sialuk thought of the villages she had visited where men and women warmed one another’s beds freely, as Moonspear did. Would the hurt be less with Aiolos here?
