Tierra liked him less the more he talked. It wasn’t exactly his fault, either. He came off like a know it all in her mind, and she read a superiority in the way he spoke that wasn’t necessarily there. Given the way the last month had gone, it wasn’t going to take much for her to take poorly to someone.

Can’t believe I thought this guy was too good for this place. She scoffed impatiently, then sat down where she was to wait for someone’s arrival. Hopefully they wouldn’t take too long and leave her here to keep him occupied.

That sounds like a good opener for them. Let them know how much they’re missing, then let me know how that goes for you. She smirked, figuring it’d go about as poorly as she pictured. Or better yet, tell them when they get here so I can watch. It was a relief, deciding she didn’t need anything from him. Now she didn’t have to care about what happened next, or worry about pissing him off.
