It was a poor choice, his being here — if he had roamed a little, maybe he would have picked up the scent of his wandering daughter — instead, as an agitated cry rose to the air, Reyes drew upon a familiar shape.

The girl's anger was pure; the way she paced and writhed from point to point, glaring at the border's edge, was deeply felt by Reyes. He knew what it was like to be filled with such emotion. But Teya wasn't who he expected to find here, demanding an audience so soon after he had done the same.
