@Khaba (!) backdated to the 14th, but let me know if i need to make it a few days later. <3

Diantha knew him only by seeing him at the gathering, nothing more. If things had been said about him, she had promptly forgotten. But now, she was led to his chambers by one of the servants. Once they arrived, she dismissed the servant and walked through the entrance. If he was not here, she would wait. Her eyes adjusted to the darkness of the place, and she searched for him.

Khaba?

The jodai loomed, bear like figure hidden by the shadows of the chamber's far wall.

Then someone came calling.

He thought, for a spare moment, that it was Makono. In fact, he hoped it so, almost convincing himself that this unfamiliar voice was hers. But it was not.

Lumbering a step out of the shadows, he revealed himself.

Eyes lowering upon the woman, Khaba stared blankly. What. Cold, deadpan. Uninterest, entirely.

He was larger than she recalled, and his fur sleek and dark. The only other color upon him was silver in his eyes and a few streaks of it painted across his chest and back. He was not a physically ugly wolf, at least. Whether or not he was ugly on the inside, Diantha could not yet determine.

Pharaoh Makono has decided that you must attend to me during this time. 'It is not optional,' she says. To deny her would be a mistake. Diantha knew this, but did Khaba?

She spoke of what she had come for.

Even if she not speak of it specifically, Khaba was no fool. He had been near women in their time of fertility. And by her demeanor and Makono's apparent demand, this woman sought children to come from this attendance.

For a moment, silent, he stared.

Only then, after a few blinks and an up and down gaze, his teeth clicked together once, decidedly. No. A swift answer; firm, unchanging.

And once his answer was spoken, he turned, returning to the shadows he once emerged from. There, upon a bed made large just for him, he laid himself.

Whether she stayed to argue or persist, or dismissed herself, he did not care. He would only watch her meanwhile, perhaps taunting her — a challenge to fight his denial as he lay comfortably.

He refused. Diantha stared blankly as he retreated. This place had promised so much, and delivered none of it. She'd had enough of all of it. The brown-spattered girl turned and left the dark inky man to himself. Diantha would tell the servants that he refused, that he was her reason for leaving, and word would make it back to @Senmut if not @Makono herself.

He watched her leave in silence.

No fight. No demands. There was peace in his chambers. For now.
