All Welcome
AW, would love to see some packmates Wren has yet to meet!

Today, Wren is exploring.
Her decision, at the moment, was to try and suppress the calls of her own body, the poison that pumped through her bloodstream. The best way to do such a thing was distracting herself. And so here she was!
She could justify it as something like a patrol of the border - though Akavir had not given her the command to do such a thing - in a solemn attempt at beginning to learn the ropes, pull her own weight. Her eyes are wide, the gait she carries herself in stiff and wary. With every sound or unfamiliar scent, her head swivels, the ivory hairs at the scruff of her shoulders always prickled. She snakes beneath the coverage of giant aspens, the creek itself as her guide.
She could do this. She could do this! She is a fully capable young woman who is now part of a pack!

The smell of something strong, a scent demanding of her attention, had wafted to the lazing wolf on this particular day. The pale girl then found herself excitedly loping along the banks of the creek, following the scent of a female she had not yet met. It hadn't been too long since her initiation into the pack, so this was not surprising at all. No matter, Vystra was eager to meet another woman of the pack and hurried her step to cover more space. So far she had only really run into males in her travels, how nice it would be to enjoy some femininity in her life...

Happening upon the rather large woman took little time, as Vys now saw the grey wolf come into vision from across the creek. The stranger looked on edge, so the girl was quick to sound a friendly call from the opposing side of the currents. She wasn't the strongest swimmer, but still Vys began pacing with her nose to the water, looking for a particularly calm area to begin her crossing.
Vystra is a deaf and mostly non-verbal character.

A snap of twigs and the gentle pitter-patter of paws earns her attention. A swivel of her head makes way for the form of another wolf of the Creek, one she hadn't seen before. Ivory and feathery, unsure in her footing, but joyous in her croons.
Are you tryn'a come over here? Wren shouts, landing her forepaws on the edge of a slimy limestone boulder. S'easier if you walk along the rocks. In plunderous moves, she hops from one rock to another; and of course, she's unable to land without having gotten her toes wet. She smiles at her anyway.

drama!!

The woman with large saucer eyes shouted something at her. Of course, Vystra could not understand but she looked to be welcoming in her posture and this only encouraged the youth push onward. Her rosy irises followed in bounding movements along with the ashen woman and giggled lightheartedly, excited to do the same.

Finding a nice sizable rock from her side of the creek, Vystra carefully placed pink pads on the soggy moss that laid on top. It was a nice grip she had found, and for that she was grateful. Never had the young wolf done something like this before, but there was no fear or hesitation as she began to jump from one rock to the next.

At first she was careful and surefooted. But as her confidence grew, she became careless - which ended in her hitting a particularly slimy rock at the wrong angle. The teen yelped as her ribs hit the jagged edge of the rock, knocking the wind out of her before she submerged. The waters were surprisingly deep with aggressive currents that raged under a mild surface.

Unfortunately, she was not a strong swimmer. Having grown up only knowing shallow ponds, Vystra knew nothing of the true power of water. Kicking wildly she eventually found herself treading above water gasping for breath and reaching out paddling paws for anything to grab onto. The rushing waters that took her farther and farther away from her packmate wooshed and thundered around her, but she heard nothing. And it was this eerie silence through the chaos that would haunt her the most for years to come.

Mature Content Warning

This thread has been marked as mature. By reading and/or participating in this thread, you acknowledge that you are of age or have permission from your parents to do so.

The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: language

Wren's eyes are careful to follow the girl's movements. As she comes closer, her youth is made more apparent by the rawboned limbs and fresh face; and by the inexperienced movements that lead her to choosing the wrong rocks.
She hadn't even had time to warn her.
Shit! Fuck! Panicked yelps are quick to come out, and soon after was the scramble of paws as she dives head-first after her. Are you outta your fuckin' mind?!
Pushing against the current was harder than it seemed to be. The rocks were her lifeline, claws dug into one and then using it to push off in the direction of another. And all the while, the shock of ice cold riverwater only spurred on the adrenaline.
Chemicals, chemicals, chemicals. Just keep moving forward.
Her muscles felt as if they may fall apart when her teeth finally snag onto some part of the girl. She bit down, hard, possibly harder than she needed to, but that was a risk she'd have to be willing to take.
Her paddle slows, allowing the two to be carried close to basalt sanctuary by the current. She uses one foreleg to hold onto it, a white-knuckle grip with claws that scrape, and the other to shove the unnamed stranger into doing the same.
