All Welcome
staggering back to the cache after gjalla's teeth had rent his shoulder, fighting again upon its maimed sinew, and then this journey — this horrendously long journey.

infection had been avoided, but now his shoulder had grown stiff and his gait misangled, as if the cordage within had drawn too taut. sleeping was a torment, and often he simply did not.

as midday angled into afternoon, kusax̱asaa found himself amid the soft gold of sandstretch beyond the shadewood. it was here that he considered swimming as a way to stretch his muscles once more, but when his head lifted, it was @Sivaak for which the single eye searched.

the muradoii queen will be found with a bloodied carcass dragged through sand, thick legs straining, snout clamped hard upon ruined spine.

it is not a fresh kill. it has been half-gutted, half-devoured, its ribs exposed like the fingers of the drowned.

her body has thickened. not only from the bulk of pregnancy now gone, but the brawn that remained. her hips heavy, flanks still bruised with labor’s memory.

the white scarred woman makes to lay down with the kill scattered behind her. a heavy paw draped possessively. her eyes track kusax̱asaa’s approach with quiet, but no hostility.

maybe even a cold admiration glinting. or is it a bloodlust? no one can tell. not even her. especially not the children that play down the length of the sand stretch. for them she casts a single look, mother bear glimpsing with protective eyes, then back to the black scar.

silent for now. only looking with those glowering crimson eyes.

kusax̱asaa did not come so close. he found in his hateful freedom, his burgeoning resentment of the wife who had held his heart and then thrown it into the mud — he found that he enjoyed the look of her blood-eating hips, and anger sent lust like a dart through the chieftain.

he settled nearby, splaying himself in the sand and turning a watchful eye over her traipsing brood.

"i want to reward you for sharing your milk with my son, monster-woman," kusax̱asaa said at last, ears tilting toward her once more as his mauled stare returned attention. "i have thought of many things i could offer. but i want to know what you desire in return."

— sivaak is no fool. the mind of muradoii is calculative, sharp. speak little, and hunt. devote the life to the hunt, to the black sea.

she sees in that single icy eye. sees as it probes upon her, and she shifts her white flesh in a way more appealing. it is something that would have filled her with such violent disgust months ago—to enjoy the lusting eye of a lanzadoii man.

but she found in sun eater much more than just lanzadoii. he was a chieftain. strong. and he was unlike many lanzadoii she had encountered; though it had only ever been few. he did not shy away from violence. she enjoyed the scars that marked his dark hide.

red eyes pull away from where she so boldly looked at his manful size and instead look to his scarred face. thinking of what she might want from him—but blood-drinker already knows what he could give her. it is only one thing.

her sneer is warm, but not in the way of softness. in the way of violence. she does not speak his tongue as eloquently as him but she will speak it upon his ears. to please him. i want you. she growls. i taked your cousin as wife but she betray. she prove weak. now your wife proved weak to you. a shrug of her scarred shoulder, rolling thick as she moves to pull herself to stand. taking thick steps closer to where he chose to lay, and descending once more across from him. her hefty, womanly size collapsing with a thud in the sand.

her eyes remain watchful and hungry upon him, but ears turn to listen close to the sounds of their children playing in the distance. no muradoii man ever impress me how you do. sometimes wish that i taked you onto me after we hunted instead of muradoii calves father.

she does not hide the shudder at the thought of it. a band of both lanzadoii and muradoii. you take me. your brother breed talvani.

he was not surprised, and yet he was shocked. the discomfort stemmed from the undissolved marriage and the fact that he still very much thought of morwenna as his own. he suspected she had gone to her kith, and it meant he was able to see in mind's-eye where she must stand, sit, lay, weep, roam, hunt.

she belonged to him. it was a simple truth that no distance, no betrayal, no demand might shake.

sivaak was a curved ice-floe before the single eye of the lanzadoii chieftain, and he wondered if ever any of the long-march caribou hunters had been faced with this! with a blood-drinker commanding bond in blood for the mingling to salt.

kusax̱asaa was flattered; it flickered in the single eye.

their thoughts upon daa'ka and talvani had aligned as well.

but he was not yet ready to surrender his idea of many lives brought to life by his own, in the bodies of several. it was not a notion he had before entertained. a lanzadoii man was bound to his wife. he had been bonded to gheli, then to red leaf. he had sought no others. and to morwenna, the final — it had once been prideful to think of joining with her in new spirit, to beget more children with the starwoven, over and over through the years.

now sivaak required him, and kusax̱asaa, through lust, found himself wary of devotion to the teeth of yet another woman. "i am not against this. we will be able to make a new people, you and i. but sivaak. i will raid again. and i will take captives again."

she understood. she understood the implicit possessiveness implied, he felt. a capture carrying lanzadoii children was no threat to the chieftain's wife, and provided kusax̱asaa with some selfish masculine assurance that should she turn on him, he had another future.

a challenge then. she stood to gain hierarchy in the sun clan, if only she accepted why he now drew this clause.

Mature Content Warning

This thread has been marked as mature. By reading and/or participating in this thread, you acknowledge that you are of age or have permission from your parents to do so.

The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: language

— sivaak laughs at this. burning crimson on the man, hearing his words true. this does not bother her. it is a reality she has faced.

sivaak does not feel things such as love (or so she thinks, so she will tell you.) she feels passion. she feels possession. she feels pride. the muradoii queen lets eyes narrow with salt-sting on black scar, white tail swishing then to thump upon the sand beneath.

that is what make you so want by me. she would growl to him, turning motherly glance over shoulder to ensure eyes remained on tustling lanzadoii and muradoii—before casting firm back to the strong chieftain. you raid. like muradoii. take slave. she burns at the imagery. fuck slave. and maybe she would enjoy to watch such power from him.

you not so different from muradoii. the sea is in my blood. i pray to the black sea. you pray to something else. but yes, she rumbles, make new. make something stronger. cubs you make with captive never be as strong as cubs you have through me. i know this.

eyes narrowing. you know that i will kill any weak. this bothers?

he shook his head, chest swelling with a strange emotion. he did not understand it. perhaps it was the honesty of this pending union. there was no need to rush, and yet there no longer was any reason to wait.

any sentiment of heart.

it was decided. some lanzadoii men had more than one wife, but kusax̱asaa was disinterested. sivaak had proven herself and he had earned her esteem. it would be an ongoing challenge from such a wife, that he display over and again what it was to keep her.

he should have never strayed from marrying among the caribou hunters.

he shook his head. "it is your right."

hers to kill, to cull, to snap among those children not her own. only c'ede' mattered among the first, as much as it killed him inside to think.

sivaak too must understand that any children born to land and sea would not replace those morwenna had taken.

he rose, loomed above the monster woman for a moment; he took her ear between his teeth in a light pulling pinch, a ragged sort of caress; "you will not marry a wounded man," his breath burnt along its inside. "let me heal and then we will go to the cold sea."

unsaid was the breaking of this agreement should kusax̱asaa find himself unable to provide. this would be a disservice to sivaak, disrespectful if they were to be united later. he must be able to run, to hunt, and to fight at the day of such ceremony.

— the teeth at her ear pull a sound from her throat—pleased. something dark and womanly. she leans into it, reaching with her own mouth to nip fleetingly at the fur of his chin and throat.

then she rises from the sand with the power of a bear, muscles shifting beneath white scar-twisted hide. she is not soft. not gentle. but there is a gleam in her eye now that was not there before.

she steps close—very close—pressing her shoulder to his chest. her muzzle lifts to breathe in the scent of him. blood, salt, war.

i allow this. a teasing grin. voice rough as bone dragged through gravel. then you take.

her breath warm beneath his chin. i want warrior. chief. killer. and many strong cubs. sivaak decides she might just stay pregnant as often as the body allows; to secure the future of the sun clan and many progeny that will never betray either parent.

then it would be.

her power inflamed him; he was struck deep by its intensity. his heart should crave morwenna. in some fashion it was so, but the scene of betrayal outside the snow shelter too had clawed itself deep into unforgiving psyche.

if sivaak turned on him, at least he would understand it was for her own muradoii ways. that it would be for the tradition of a caribou hunter, not a throne, not a crown, not a world so far beyond his own.

this was acceptable — welcome, even.

he set their foreheads together; tails lashing.

"i have never lain with a muradoii woman before." his mouth was a smirk. "maybe i will lose my mind in the sea."

his single eye burned.

— her grin flashes—wide, savage, all tooth. a glint of blood still dried at the edge of her jaw makes it feral.

the queen's head tilts just so, breath hot against his cheek. voice the rasping like the fanning of coals. you will.

her eyes slit with delight. satisfaction. black sea takes. black sea gives. she strip you to bone and build again. muradoii way. some guilty pleasure it is to depart this knowledge to him. to infect his lanzadoii mind with the way of muradoii; to see what may reflect in that single, burning eye of his.

her breath thickens. without notice, the white-pelted woman turns. a body made for violence, made for bearing warriors, swinging with both power and sultry intent. going now to corral the children in the distance.

leaving chieftain with the sight of her war-hardened muscle and pup-softened belly.
