When Niamh referred to a loved one, it didn't even occur to him that she might be talking about her ex-lover. He nodded solemnly, and then Towhee signed, but Phox couldn't even bring himself to begrudgingly smile at her "joke." Maybe Towhee didn't like Camilla, but she also had the completely wrong idea about them. Phox had sworn to protect her, nothing more, nothing less. If there was anything more to their relationship, it was unknown to him.
