All Welcome
@Vengeance Rank challenge (Rolled 5)

The man had bided his time her. Sitting low until his injuries became less of a problem for him. He had scars and some still scabbed, his ear was in tatters and hardened with the scar tissue and clotted blood. Though the salty water helped keep his wounds clean and him feeling fresh.
Fucking sand though, he didn't know how Grezig coped.
He was glad she was ok, as were the pups.

Though now, today, he felt good. Exhilarated even. He'd already been testing out the best place to call for a spar. To claim the rank Eta. Sustainable, yes. He could sit with that for a while.
He stood after high tide, the sand damp and drying fast. But it was perfect. Hard enough to support but soft enough to still kick up the dried surface.
He tipped his head and called for the Eta. And he would not be patient.

The call rang out - for the first time he was being summoned ever since he joined the ranks within Rusalka.

Wasting no time, there was nothing that could distract him. Long, strong strides carried the brute to where the call had rang out, ruby eyed studying the one who stood before him.

He chose not to speak, instead he waited for the other to state what the hell he wanted from the chocolate coated male.

"I challenge you for your rank. Nice way or hard way?"  Surrender or spar?
He quit the shit. Raleska liked that directness so he decided to use it again. Why not, anyway?

He kept his chin tilted just up, his tail raised up. He'd only spar -- to injure one another would be bad of course. A pack needed able bodies. He placed a leg forward, stiff and ready. He didn't take Vengeance as one to take a challenge lightly; but what was he to know.

Straight to the point. So it seemed like his position within the pack was already challenged. So be it. His rank wasn't all that high, but perhaps this individual just wanted something higher in general to what he was granted at the moment.

Hard. He replied, immediately in motion as he wasted no time in preparing himself for battle. Whether he won or lost didn't matter, he wasn't planning on becoming Beta or anything much higher in this pack - but he wouldn't just bow and let someone take his rank.

His pace was slow, but metholodical. A rhythm in his steps as he slowly approached the other male head on. Ears against his skull, tail just low enough to protect his backside, but with a slight slope skyward in the curve to ensure that he was not showing a submissive stance, eyes focused on the male ahead...

One... Two... Three... Four... One paw after another, no change in his steps. Would the other initiate attack, Vengeance was ready to defend, but if the other decided he would wait for Vegeance's move, he would attack as soon as he was within striking distance... was this male more of the defensive type, or offensive. Either way, he was ready to spring into action as his muscles twitched and ache in anticipation.

Derg grunted softly, tucking in his chin upon the first baritones in case he went straight for the lunge.
Instead, he went slowly. Watching and waiting. They'd start for trying each other's weaknesses, of course.
Perhaps Vengeance didn't have as much stamina as Derg, who possessed a noteworthy smaller figure had.

He should bide his time to wear him out or he could use his speed.
He chose the latter and feinted to the left side before pushing off to the right in the hopes of Vengeance turning to catch him and exposing the opposite side. If successful, he'd catch him on the face lightly enough to not draw blood; but that was his benchmark. Smallest amounts of blood possible.

The opponent chose to make the first move. Vengeance was careful to not make a lunge until a connection was made, the fein did little to no effect, and instead lunged for the opponent's flank the moment that his own side was attacked. Bracing himself by spreading his hind legs, lowering his lower half just enough to bring his center of gravity as low as possible to protect his own flank - Vengeance aimed to tear into any sensitive flesh he could grab onto. Toes digging into the soil to stabilize his footing.

He knew fighters like this one, he had faught plenty already, mostly females who try to use their speed to their advantage against his own brute strength. it would not work this time. He was determined to do maximum damage.

His ears slicked back as teeth latched into his soft side. The flank all but disappeared when he flew by, half containing a yelp of surprised pain. How dare he?
He wanted to twist his rear away from the teeth but slowed himself, knowing he was held. His he pulled away he could well rip open his flank given the softness of the skin there.

He ground his teeth for a moment before deciding to duck and try and upturn the behemoth. He dropped his head and front end, knowing it was a risky maneuver. He could well be flattened and that be the end of it. He threw himself forward behind the foreleg and pushed up, letting the weight be taken onto his shoulders as he pushed forward with his back legs.

Blood burst into his maw, teasing his tastebuds with the sweet acrid flavour of blood. As he mused with the thought of disembowling his foe, painting the battleground with the intestines of his challengers - Vengeance leaned into the bite, chewing as his head moved left and right, a snake trying to get as much into his mouth as possible.

But he was aware it was only a challenge. Holding back, he focused on his opponent and his movements. Moving under Vengeance in what he could only assume would try to flip him over.

Already his center of gravity had been lowered to protect himself from the previous attack, and all he had to do was let his weight and already in position stance take the wheel on being an immoveable object. Instead, he chose to go of a more wrestling like technique. While the other was underneath, and Vengeance had hold of his flank, the brunette pushed against the other in attempt to twist him, turn his spine and posture to illiminate the ability to use much force.

If he could imobilize his opponent, then this fight was over - before he would say fuck it and end it in a way that would get him thrown out of the pack's borders... preferably so.

He grunted as he was twisted, his legs losing grip and subsequently he failed his attack.
He almost wished he'd gone straight for the face now.

Derg huffed, his spine popping at it does when one stretches -- or in this case stretched. It was only a challenge and surely he wasn't fighting for his life. Right? If he submitted, would the behemoth decide to slaughter him?
He weighed up his options and decided he could get out if he really wanted to -- in a fight for his life, that was -- not for a simple challenge to test the waters.

He let himself down, laying flat beneath the man. He almost wished he could be treated like he treated Ronnie. Though, that was for another day. Surely.
He huffed a soft laugh, hoping he wasn't about to be disemboweled.
"You fight well, friend."

Thanks for playing this out! 8) You can close the thread if you dont want to post one more time!

He wanted to step on the male's head and see if he could rip this man in half with sheer strength alone, to really put the test of the body of a wolf and see how much pressure it could take when one end could not follow the other as it is being tugged in different directions.

But it was all just a thought.

The fight for the title was over as quickly as it began. There was an end to the other's attempts, and Vengeance in response loosened his grip, and stopped tugging on the flesh he had gotten. The other grew more limp and verbally ended it all. It was the most fun he had within Rusalka since he had joined. And it ended so soon.

Opening his jaw, he let the man regain composure and then left to go back to his den to calm down.
