the carcass is only a day old, and by some miracle, had yet to be discovered by any formidable scavanger. location surely played a key roll; the aged doe had collapsed at the edge of a ravine only to fall into it in death, obscured by rock and rubble. the huntress is lucky, then, despite the difficulty of retrieving the carcass.

she hesitates on the edge of the ravine, for a moment alert. something moves in the dense tangle of underbrush and firs, for a fleeting moment she is sure of it. another moment passes, uneventfully, and she blames the wind that carves through her fur. averting her attention, she focuses instead on skidding down the small, but steep, incline.
Babe, there's something wretched about this

-6C°, currently it is partly cloudy and set during the day. Located in Kintla Flatlands, greatwater lake | ooc notes: lets gooo!!

Out again, out into the wilds and away from Rusalka's borders once more. This time he was sure of his travels, everything seemed more familiar to him than it did before. Out again into the great wilderness to try and find some food once more - originally something to bring back to the pack, but the further he traveled the less likely that seemed to be. Even if he did find something, it was likely only going to be enough for himself, or perhaps, if he and the others were lucky, enough and small enough for him to carry it the distance.

And there it was, the smell of fallen prey. An easy meal with no effort necessary than to eat it and hope he could bring some back to share with someone else. Drawn by the scent he scaled down the side of the ravine, rocks tumbling down with every not-so-graceful step as he barely kept his footing on the slippery slope.

It was when he was on flat land, regaining his footing did he spot and eye the female who was joining him down in the ravine for a bite to eat... Rosencrantz, well, he wasn't feeling very generous today. Stepping toward the dead doe, he kept an eye on the female.

it was only when her paws found level ground that she noticed the male, somewhat closer to the doe than she. the ravine was narrow, but wide enough certainly for two. with no way to drag the carcass out, she was prepared to suggest they share. another glance at the male, however, revealed a man who most certainly did not seem to think sharing was caring.

nor would she back down, however, and so similarly closed the distance between herself and the carcass. "there's enough for the both of us." a moment passed, in which she understood that not moving forward would likely only be seen as a sign she was willing to back down. proclamation delivered, the woman stepped forward, sights set on a rear haunch but attention on the one-eyed male.
