All Welcome
Figured I'd start for us <3
After the hunt with Redtail Rise, Rae had been thinking; thinking about —
@Suzu. There wasn't any particular reason for it, at least that she could work out with her own limited introspection skills. That brief, silent moment with Lilia had simply drawn her attention to the girl, and after awhile Rae decided to seek her out. She still didn't have many friends within Sapphique, though she had scraped together the beginnings of a bond with several of her packmates who seemed rather scarce now.
She brought a freshly-caught fish along with her as she followed the other girl's trail, tail swaying slowly behind her. A light rain trickled down over her head as she went, but she didn't mind. Rae was getting used to the feeling of being soaked, having taken to swimming in the ocean frequently of late.

thank youuuu! dropped off the ship there for a bit heh. <3

The fish trap that Suzu had made with Swordfish persisted against the tide, tended by the girl and her brothers who often helped out at her request. She found digging up, dragging and piling the driftwood up very exhausting, but the payout had been incredibly satisfying. With time, the tide brought in and left long strands of kelp clinging to the fence of driftwood that she had constructed, simultaneously adding more camouflage and making it more structurally sound. The fence stretched between two large boulders, and when the tide went out, everything that did not slip out around one of them got caught in her home made net.

It made hunting much easier for her. Perched on one of the stones, she could simply lay in the sunshine (or in this case, in the rain) and simply wait for the tide to go out. She watched a few small fish flicker like shards of silver beneath the surface, knowing they would be trapped in her construction. It looked as though a green crab had been cornered as well. Once the water drew back further, she would be able to hop down, and catch all of them with ease. Waiting, for her, was easy.

She looked up when she saw movement in the distance, to see Raelle coming in her direction. She caught sight of the fish that the girl carried, and her eyes glistened. She couldn't help but lick her lips at the sight of it- though she truly didn't expect the more skilled hunter to share with her- and called Raelle over with a quiet bark.

Maybe she would share, if Suzu could promise her that she'd have a snack in about an hour when the tide finally went out.

She found Suzu reclining by the water, watching over some strange driftwood contraption which immediately caught her eye. Rae slowed in her approach to openly study it, but ultimately decided to hold off on questioning the purpose of it for the moment. First —
Ya hungry? She plopped the fish down on Suzu's rock. S'for you. Rae added, in case that wasn't obvious. Then she glanced back to the water, where kelp was floating out from the pieces of driftwood. S'that for? Swimming pool? The thought amused her a bit, but she was genuine in her curiosity.

Her stomach growled, a reply that Raelle would likely hear so Suzu simply rolled her eyes. "Yes," She sighed, "Thank you," She added, grateful to be offered something to eat. At her question, she gestured for Raelle to hop up onto the large, dark boulder alongside her so she could see the waning pool from her point of view.

"Dis is a trap, dat...Dat I built a long time ago. Dere be a bunch of driftwood piled an' embedded in de sand between dis rock, an dat next one. So when de tide comes in, de water goes in t'rough de gaps, or over it when de tide is really high. But when de tide goes out...Any fishies or crabs or even octopus or ot'er sea creatures, dey get stuck in 'ere, an' can't get back to de water once it is all gone." She said. "De tide is beginning to move out now...Another little bit, an' we'll be able to see better what 'as been caught. You want to wait wid me an' see?" She asked.
