It's not a reaction he expects, but he isn't surprised by it, either. Taikon seems to fall into the middle category. It isn't the worst reaction, but it isn't what he'd wanted. His ears fall back against his crown, flattening as the man speaks. The slightest cringe draws Zephyr's body back when Taikon steps away, increasing the distance between them by millimeters. After how close he'd allowed him, after the bond they'd formed, everything that comes out of the pale wolf's mouth strikes Zephyr with razor edges.
