Mature Content Warning

This thread has been marked as mature. By reading and/or participating in this thread, you acknowledge that you are of age or have permission from your parents to do so.

The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: violence, gore

The todd’s scent was rank; it made him easy to track down. The cross fox had made the valley its home, and had been living there, peacefully, mindful of the wolves who inhabited the area. He was an elderly fox, alone in his old age, but he saved himself brawls and pain by living out the rest of his days in solitude.

He made short work of avoiding the wolves; he had many burrows, and many tricks that he exhausted to allow himself to disappear almost as soon as he was spotted.

But his tricks became a tutor’s guidebook, and over time, Ameline learned his movements, his burrows, the tricks he used to confuse a wolf’s nose. Misfortune had struck the todd when he broke through ice and skimmed a layer of muscle and skin from his leg. Now, he limped; he could not fly like an arrow anymore.

Ameline cornered him against the valley’s steep walls. The fox’s yowls rang out as it bared its teeth in an open-mouthed scream, the sheer pitch of his voice enough to deter her momentarily. Flattening her ears, she growled and lunged, and the fox fought desperately to loosen her grip.

She caught hold of it, but found its skin loose, so the creature whirled and kicked out, scrabbling at her with its two front paws, screaming into her ears and biting at them. She shook the fox as hard as she could, but its skin held fast.

The fox grabbed a hold of the fur just below her jawline, sinking its teeth into the flesh- though her winter coat was thick enough to protect her from real harm. She pinned her nose to the ground, and eventually managed to place one paw on the squirming animal’s ribs, just long enough to hold it down- and grab it by the base of its tail.

The fox employed the use of its own musky odour, which left the Regina coughing and spluttering, tears rolling down her cheeks. She crunched, the bone crackled, and as the fox wailed and railed against her, eventually there was a sickening snap, and the fox fell free.

It left behind a trail of blood, and a wolf whose pricked skin seeped red into the snow. She dropped prize onto the ground- and began to roll in the snow, to rid herself of the fox’s putrid stink.

She would suffer a cold plunge, to rid herself of the smell more, but found even days later when she carried the cleaned prize to @Cole that she could still smell fox Urine in her fur.

His token was given- an unusual colouring for such a thing. Rather than being vibrant red, with a white tip, the cross fox’s tail was a mixture of blacks and golds, with a fluffy white tip. She presented it to him, as a reward for becoming the pack’s first Rogue-

And left, hoping that the next fox she slayed would be a vixen.
