perhaps too much of sivaak rubbed off on sobeille. she remained entirely unmoved by the man’s begging.

something nascent curled within her, asp-like and winding as it watched shadess’ brutality grow.

together, sobeille guided them to the windshorn cliffs.

she paused at the patch of dirt where pepper had been deposited days before. death clung to this place. a shudder rippled down her spine as she sensed its presence.

magnanimity glinted in sobeille’s goldcoin eye as she bodily moved bruno to stand among the fresh tilled dirt of the  deceased.

he was looked up and down, as if he’d been measured and found wanting. he was tall and rangy. dark like val. this memory withered some of the gregariousness she felt, replaced by sivaak’s iron-clad depravity.
