Revui had spent the dim hours of the early morning tracking his sister to a rendezvous, and then deviated from that path once he deemed her to be safe. He should have headed back the way he had come, followed the familiar ridge-line all the way to the mountain his family had claimed, but he didn't. He felt invigorated by his solo adventure, bolder because he was off the slopes of his mountain, and continued south as morning blossomed around him.

By the time the afternoon settled around him he'd reached a foreign river, and this he took to investigating for some time. It wasn't an alien thing, this river. It smelled cold, and because it was so exposed to the elements the chill of winter had frozen the shallows, giving him an easy location to cross. From there, he found a wide-open space the likes of which were wholly foreign to him. Revui was born upon Moonspear, he lived and worked upon Moonspear, and had no concept of the world around him. But this expanse was a glorious find — it was blanketed by a thick layer of fresh snow, white and blank for as far as he could see, and the boy was charmed by it.

So, he took his chances and went racing across the meadow; this took up a number of hours, but they sped by without thought. The snow had begun to fall again by the time he paused for a rest, and at this point his silver coat was layered with slivers of ice and patches of snow which had frozen throughout his winter coat; he was panting hard, and his breath came as billowing clouds. He knew he would be missed if he stayed away from the mountain for much longer — but the boy wasn't a child anymore, his body was fully grown and he knew how to handle himself if danger came for him. He was not afraid of what might happen here in the open world.

That was, until he spotted a figure in the distance. Revui had no idea that the fen was typically a boggy place, and so he didn't consider that it might, perhaps, become a place ripe with the danger he thought he was capable of handling. He spotted that figure lurking deep within the fen, and he was curious - and foolish - and he was drawn across the fen until the stranger was closer. Once he was situated behind them at a safe distance, he called out with a commanding bark — the likes of which he often employed upon the mountain, but in this case it was too loud for the open air, and carried across the expanse with a more aggressive tone than he meant.
