Lane believed Tzila. She knew the other mother considered Veteran to be like one of her own. 

"Vet will be okay," Lane assured Tzila, "He thinks the scars are cool.." She shook her head, a bitter smirk playing briefly over her features. "But Sikuliak..." the smile vanished from her expression. Surely Tzila had seen the young Qeya-Black still limping around, weeks after his encounter with Makatza. Lane was deeply concerned that Sikuliak would be permanently disabled. 

"Yes, a different channel for the aggression would be good," Lane agreed, although she couldn't help from sounding a little skeptical. The children were so dominance-driven right now, they seemed drawn to each other like magnets. "I'm trying to convince my kids not to provoke her, but it goes in one ear and out the other." She shook her head again. She could definitely commiserate with Tzila over how resistant her children seemed to be to hearing advice and behaving with good sense.
