She knew it to be true.

For she knew she sunk her teeth deeper into his heart upon his return. That his absence had formed her into a selfish creature, who craved her village with a fierceness not yet refined before.

She could not fathom allowing him to ever leave again.

But she laughed, warm and soft, in the waves of his affection. Gently she nudged him as she pulled away, inviting him to come along to their shared place.
