It wasn't Tamar watching the kids, but Meadow. Pretty, pretty Meadow who was very much attached to Reyson and off-limits to Phox. He felt his gut turn. He had avoided her solely because he liked her. Which sounded silly, until Phox remembered he most certainly did not want to be "the other man" in any situation. He was perfectly happy single, remember? And he had Towhee and the kids to think about. Not to mention he did not dream of upsetting whatever was going on with Meadow and Reyson.

Oh, hey, hi Meadow. I can just... come back a little later then? he suggested. Maybe around dusk?
