Okay this guy -- could he be more theatrical? Mal just found him pretty gross since he really didn't seem to care -- Simmik must have met with him on a good day. What a waste of interesting markings... And given the way he swaggered on out here, the guy probably thought he owned the world -- and it made him that much more certain that Donovan had gone out of his way to attempt to lure Simmik in just for giggles. He'd probably have wrung every drop of goodness out of her and ditched her in the most cruel way he could think of. Not gonna happen, Mal would have fun making sure everyone he ran across knew Donovan was off his rocker. That nice little thought pretty much balanced out the suspicion and other negative thoughts, keeping Mal's outward expression neutral as things went on.

It's not like he said anything that made Mal think anything different. He thought they were gonna kill him? Really? Kinda said something about whatever world this guy was from. Kidnapping was totes ok and so was attacking people, but giving people a warning wasn't a thing. Was he the black headed wench's long lost brother or something?

But there was Hua saying her piece. See? She was pretty damn awesome. He didn't remember her ever being that bold when they'd first met, but her being so utterly cool about the whole thing left Mal with a slight smirk at last. The Kastleoki woman spoke next. This dude thought it came naturally to act like a maniac? Sheesh. And before you say 'Oh, this is all some misunderstanding,' maybe you should give it some thought. Do your packmates know that you think kidnapping people is 'natural'? he inquired, shifting tones to one that made a point of how ridiculous it was -- believing lizard people control the government was equally reasonable. He didn't leave room for an answer, continuing more normally, If those are the kind of people you want around, then I don't think it'd be a stretch to say we're all gonna butt heads again in the future. Do yourself a favor, find somewhere where neighbors are a lot farther away or at least like playing by the same rules you do. Seriously, go hang out by Nightwalkers and bicker among themselves forever, Mal wouldn't mind if they stayed super far away and kept themselves busy. Two birds one stone kind of thing.
