All Welcome
It took fourteen days of life for Malrok's eyes to finally open.

He was not the most precocious of babes in this regard, but it mattered not. In the darkness, he'd been lost in dreams, and had fine-tuned his other senses as well. Vision was only yet another layer upon the layers that were life.

The tiny orbs were the deep blue of a summer sky, and they swiveled slowly, taking in each new piece of visual information. A small, brownish lump—@Attuaserk. A larger, ruddy form. . .he lifted his small, blunted nose and scented @Sakhmet.

Ah! This was the Great Mother.

Their den was small but cozy, built into the earth. And outside, a blinding light; Malrok looked away, blinking. It was too much for now.

He focused on his brother's face instead.

He wondered if this was much like the form his own soul had chosen.

This is her first time as mother.

She did not know the timeline for these things, what happened and when, what it entailed. But something new seemed to come over Malrok today.

And when she caught sight of him, it was with two summer blue eyes peering from his soft features. Her heart hammered heavy in her chest as she rumbled with warmth towards him, watching him witness his own brother for the first time.

He is handsome, isn't he? You are too. Nose dipped to smooth his crown.

At her praise, he looked blearily up at the russet wolf, and his lips split wide in a gummy smile of pleasure at her touch (his milk teeth had not yet erupted).

She was beautiful, this Great Mother, this aana kamanaqtuq.

But his gaze returned, eventually, to @Attuaserk, and he trundled forward to worry at his brother's tiny ear, bidding him awake. Had everything changed for him, too?

The world was so much wider now.

What a wonderful boy.

His gummy grin would be met back with one full of teeth. Teeth that would groom him, that would protect him, that would tend to every need he ever had.

She watched as his fascination moved onward to his brother and Sakhmet offered a small rumble in her throat, prompting the other young boy to wake up. She too wondered if his world had expanded today.
