Bearclaw Valley That you can get what you want, or you can just get old

She drew even with @Arnarkla, grinning in anticipation. Not far away, the others circled, and began their own challenge. While she wanted to see how her husband fared with Cole, and how her daughters fared against their opponents, she kept her gaze on the Northern woman. This wasn't a spectacle, after all- it was meant to be a practice. Her daughters might fare better if they felt they weren't being watched, anyway. 

She gave the woman a nod, so that they might begin on even ground, both ready for the brawl. She flicked her tongue over her teeth- reminding herself that this would not be a fight where she could use them for anything other than gripping and pulling. She would have to keep herself balanced, while trying to wrestle the slightly shorter woman to the ground. 

In a fight to the blood, she might have had an advantage. But in a fight to keep from getting grounded, the Northerner might surprise her. 

Balance, she reminded herself. She just had to stay on her feet. 

She kept her limbs lightly bent, so that an errant shove shouldn't catch her off guard as she bounded toward the woman, feigning a low snap of her teeth before she jutted her shoulder up, in an attempt to catch the woman by surprise and land a blow to her flank.
