Riley watched the duo go. It made him miss his mother.

It made him heartsick, for more reason than one.

Remaining motionless, his gaze tracked Mal as the wolf backtracked some, sniffing along the ground. Riley had sniffed more than enough of the man's scent when he had first found the girl -- a shudder coldly snaked its way down his spine.

Mal divulged he had to go home. It made sense to Riley, though he wondered if he stayed here in this clearing if he would catch the man eventually. It didn't matter. Those wolves always got what was coming to them.

"Call for Riley." He reiterated, knowing when and if the call came, he would be more than ready to find his own pound of flesh, too.
