There was a brief relief flashing the coywolf's face when it was Nyra who showed up. Even though she was large and intimidating, she had proven that she wasn't quick to lash out at his stupidity and lack of knowledge. With her came that suffocating scent, though, that made Charles petrify even though he wanted to run away.

He watched as she came nearer; there was a predatory look on her face that he didn't recognise from when they had met. Yet on the other hand there was also a softness in her eyes, something warm. The combination of both terrified Charles, but he managed to fight off the fear from his face so that he could save his dignity.

Uh, hey, 'sup, Charles said overly casually — especially for the situation — and he stared at her, finding it hard to get his body to do anything at all, let alone what he wanted (which was still to run away, even though he knew it was foolish to run from one of his own leaders in his new pack).
