had he sent them upon a mission of death?

a breath raked from his throat. when the crocodile blinked he found himself atop the mesa, in the hallowed place of priestly roaming. unfit he might be to stand here, the breeze beckoned all the same, and the grieving man shut his eyes tightly as cold traced the great patch of scar tissue along his shoulder, his throat.
